Bugatti Divo

Do I need a SARS importers code to get import?
I think there is a lot more to worry about than that when it comes to importing a hyper car, like where would you drive it?

Bugatti CEO hints that new super-SUV could be on the way

Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann has dropped a pretty hefty hint that the brand is considering building a super-SUV, revealing that the French brand will look “at every body style”.

Speaking to CarAdvice, Winkelmann said that he had a desire to expand the Bugatti range past the Chiron and the limited-edition Divo.

“For me, the brand is ready to do more than one model. But we will have to see if we can find [the investment]; this is something we are still waiting for because the [Volkswagen] Group has significant investments in projects like autonomous driving and electric cars,” he said.

However, the 53-year-old Bugatti CEO hinted that any new model was unlikely to come in the form of a sedan or fastback.

“It’s clear that if we do something different from a super sports car, something different from the Chiron, then it would not be enough just to be in love with one type of car,” Winkelmann told the Australian publication.

“We would look very different at every body style and also regional demand, see what is going up and what is going down, and also in terms of pricing. We would not put our money into something which is fading,” he added.

Of course, fellow VW Group brands Bentley and Lamborghini have both already taken the SUV plunge (with the Bentayga and Urus, respectively), while Rolls-Royce earlier in 2018 revealed its Cullinan. Ferrari, too, has all but confirmed that an SUV bearing the Prancing Horse badge is on the cards.

Bugatti Divo Build Slot Available For A R25 Million Premium

We all know that a new Bugatti arrives about as often as Zimbabwe gets a new president. Therefore, when a new model actually arrives the demand will always exceed supply. If you want one now, however, be prepared to dig deep into your pocket. Very deep, in fact.

It has recently been discovered that a car dealer is offering a build slot for the new 1,479 hp (1,103 kW) Bugatti Divo at a cataclysmic price of €6,650,000 (approx. R103 million). The original price for a Divo was around €5 million (approx. R77 million), so that means somebody will be making around €1.5 million worth of profit (R25 million). Not bad if you ask us!

The seller tells us that this Divo will be built towards the end of 2019, the 28th of December to be exact, so if you need to find a Christmas present for a wealthy oil guru in the Middle East, then look no further.

It seems as if this 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 car will have a black body with an Alcantara interior and a hefty load of optional extras to match. But if nothing else justifies the rather large price tag, however, the fact that you will be able to brag to your friends that you have one of only forty Divo’s ever made almost certainly does.

Bugatti Takes Divo Testing In The Kalahari Desert

It has been eight months since we saw the Bugatti Divo debut at Pebble Beach and with all of them sold out we are all wondering when the 40 lucky customers will be getting their special creation.

Despite its astronomical price tag of $5.8 million, Bugatti had no trouble selling every example to existing Bugatti customers. Just before deliveries start, Bugatti is subjecting the Divo to some extreme weather testing.

Photos posted on Bugatti’s Facebook page show development engineer Julia Lemke taking the Divo to extreme conditions in the Kalahari desert, driving at 155 mph (250 km/h) for several hours in scorching temperatures exceeding 40 degrees centigrade.

The Bugatti Divo is finally ready

Deliveries of Bugatti's €5million track car have begun

Bugatti has begun delivering the first of 40 €5million Divos to their owners. Those lucky, lucky things.

It may use the Chiron’s platform and 1,479bhp quad-turbo W16, but the Divo is lighter, stiffer, more focussed and somehow even more outrageous than the car on which it’s based, and apparently not at all like it to drive.

Bugatti’s engineers have been fine-tuning the Divo’s setup for the last two years. Chassis development alone required more than 5,000km of testing at speeds of up to its limited top speed of 236mph.

I'll rather have a Toyota Corolla Quest ne. Its lighter on fuel and cheaper to run.

R100 Million Bugatti Divo Captured Testing At The Nürburgring

Bugatti uncovered the Divo back in 2018 and since deliveries have not yet begun, the manufacturer is still finished up testing of the $5.8 million hypercar at the mighty ‘Ring.

Just 40 units will be made, which were all spoken for before the reveal, each packing the menacing 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 developing 1,480 hp (1,103 kW).

Bugatti Divo Deliveries Underway

The €5 million Bugatti Divo is limited to just 40 units worldwide and now the first customers have taken delivery from the Atelier in the Alsatian town of Molsheim.

“The Divo marks a milestone in Bugatti’s history spanning over 110 years. The Divo will now enter our history books alongside the cutting-edge Veyron and hyper sports cars, Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti, says. “The Divo starts a new era at Bugatti – the era of modern coachbuilding. With the Divo we have created a highly customised masterpiece of automotive craftsmanship that is a must-have for any Bugatti collection.”

First Bugatti Divo Arrives In The USA With Epic ‘Unboxing’ Video

It’s weird to think just how much people love seeing expensive things unboxed but when it is the R100 million Bugatti Divo, the ante is cranked up a whole lot more.

Luckily for us, Connecticut exotic car dealer Miller Motorcars has documented the arrival of what they claim is the first Divo in the United States and it is awesome.

After landing in JFK from Paris (despite this car’s Volkswagen engineering, Bugatti is, at the end of the day, a French brand), the dedicated wooden crate containing the Divo is transported in its own, closed trailer to the dealership.

Bugatti Divo 2020 review

Should I buy one?

Whether or not the Divo – the first coachbuilt Bugatti of the 21st century – deserves a spot in your presumably large collection is a moot point. If your name isn’t on the list, it’s too late. Bugatti showed it to its most loyal clients before parading it in front of the champagne-soaked crowd at the 2018 edition of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and they scooped up the 40 cars, each priced at £4.5 million, in record time.

You’re not out of luck if you want a Bugatti that moves sideways as well as it moves forward, though. The Chiron Pur Sport, which was also designed for the mountains, remains available.

Watch R90 Million Matte Blue Bugatti Divo ‘Unboxing’

Earlier this year we saw the first Bugatti Divo to arrive in USA getting a sweet unboxing video from Miller Motorcars and they have not disappointed with another video of the R90 million hypercar.

The Bugatti Divo featured in this particular video is unique matte blue exposed carbon fibre example of the Divo, which is why it needs to make such a dramatic entry.
