Build me a PC!!

I chose the case and PSU because this is a crossfire build.

The case was chosen for it's excellent cooling capabilities and it's amount of bays seeing that the OP want's "maximum number of SATA"

I only see one GPU?

Think he meant SATA ports on the board.

The P280 will take 6x3.5" drives and 2x2.5" drives

Yip, correct :-)

The motherboard has:
-10 x SATA3
-1 x eSATA
-8 x USB 3.0
-7 x USB 2.0

The case supports:
- 3 x 5.25" drives
- 8 x 3.5" drives
- 1 x 2.5" drive

So you have all 10 SATA ports you can utilize, 1 for the SSD, 1 for the Blu ray writer, and 8 for hard drives. (7 if you connect the eSATA Port in the front of the case)

In the front of the case you will have:
- 4 x USB 3.0 Ports
- 2 x USB 2.0 Ports
- 1 x eSATA

and at the back of the motherboard you have:
- 4 x USB 3.0 Ports
- 2 x USB 2.0 Ports
- 1 x eSATA Connector

How noisy will each of those cases be? Looking at them, it looks like the P280 will be quieter, but does it have sufficient natural cooling?

I have the P183, it's whisper quiet.

Running closed loop Antec Khuler 620 water cooling for my CPU that just bolts onto the fan at the back and a HD6970 running the stock cooler. Never had an overheating issues.

It's in my bedroom, so noise is a factor. I take it these cases don't need additional fans under normal running conditions.

Stock coolers should work just fine unless you're planning on doing some overclocking.

Agreed, but do the liquid coolers not keep it cooler... My room gets monsteringly hot in summer.

True, but I only added that recently.

I don't Know how good the Intel stock coolers are these days, I haven't used one since like 2006

I used to run one of these: http://www.rebeltech.co.za/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12_33&products_id=2015

If you don't want to go closed loop liquid cooling go for this: http://www.rebeltech.co.za/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12_33&products_id=2018

It'll most likely be quieter than the stock cooler and cool better.

@NomNom well planned build
I do agree with @grim The Antec is a better choice for sound dampening. and then you can probably/almost afford a closed loop system.
I would personally go for a Corsair 550D or 330R They are super quiet (No window though)

Any other case suggestions. And other motherboards (good ones)?

Aharon.

I'll be frank. You probably got a good tax rebate and want to build yourself an epic PC. You can not build yourself a future proof PC.
If you want to spend that kind of money you get bragging rights for a month or three.

I honestly think you will not be using that PC for what it's worth. I'll recommend you use the suggestions made - they are very good suggestions.

I would like to propose something a bit different.

Getting a slightly older generation display card will not necessarily give you worse performance: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-590/performance

I'm willing to wager you do not have a monitor that can match the performance of that display card.
Also I'm willing to bet that in taking an i7 Chip most of the core's will be powered down for most of the time you use it.
And 16GB of high performance RAM?

If you really want to future proof the machine get mid to high range specs and a PS4 or XBox One for games.
You can still have a machine that can startup in 30 seconds flat with all fancy looking stuff with enough storage for all your movies and series.

Also should software and peripherals be in included in your budget?

Guys guys guys... I have the P280, and it is not as quiet as they state! Don't get the P280, it's ridiculously heavy, not quiet, and the cooling isn't that great. Although there is a lot of space for fans. I had to install on my HHD cage to blow directly on my GPU. It has a lot of features inside, but overall, it's not the sexy beast you'd want it to be.

I'm going to take NomNom's build and tweak it a bit.

Case: R2,284.00 (you can save on the case, but it is the best case in the world IMO and if you take it now, you'll never need another one)
Cooler Master Trooper, Full Tower, Black, Windowed side panel

PSU: R1,598.00 (we can go a bit less if you decide not to go CrossFire later)
SeaSonic X 750w Gold

Motherboard: R2,399.00 (the price jumped overnight to R2,414.00)
ASRock Z87 Extreme6
Also look at: R2,355.00
GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H

CPU: R3,999.00
Intel Core i7-4770K

If you want 8GB of RAM and get another 8GB later, you'll save enough to get a watercooler.
RAM: R2,106.00
G.Skill F3-2133C10Q-16GAB
Also look at: R2,045
G.Skill F3-2133C10D-16GXM

GPU: R3,799.00
PowerColor AXR9 280X 3GBD5-DHE Radeon R9 280X 384bit PCI Express 3.0 Desktop Graphics Card
Also look at: Sapphire R9 280X Toxic Edition (A good alternative to look at, because it's the best 280X out there and looks amazeballs, I'd take the PowerColor because of it's cheapness!)

SSD: R2,459.00 (Cheaper at Rebeltech, but sold out)
Samsung MZ-7TE250 840 Evo Series 250GB 2.5" TLC SATA III Solid State Drive

HDD: R1,099.00 x 2 = R2,198.00
Seagate ST2000DM001 2TB 7200RPM SATA III 64MB Cache 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Opitcal Drive: R1,005.00
LG BH16NS40, 16x Blu-Ray writer, Black

CPU Cooler: Just to keep it cooler and quiet...
Zalman LQ310 R888
Thermaltake Water 3.0 Performer R844

Total: My alternatives (except for GPU) + Zalman cooler + Shipping = R22819

There is a lot of places where we can cut costs, but this is as epic as it will get! All the other nice looking goodies will add to the cost quickly. That you can buy afterwards.

Ignore this part OP :p

I forgot to add. You can also look at the MSI Z87 G65 Gaming motherboard, although it is more expensive. It was cheaper when the Rand was still a currency of note... Anyway, it's a good looking board with all the features you'd possibly need.
