Hi guys,

Just now I thought, wouldn't it be cool to build my own laptop. I have build 3 or 4 of my past desktop myself and want to do a laptop. Any ideas where I can get components.

Thanks in advance guys!:)

You may struggle, I have never seen or heard of anybody doing this. Normally the laptop is OEM and build for a specific case/MOBO etc.

Ok aside from the very expensive peaces (that totaled will cost more than a ready built one)
Are not most of the parts built for a spicific model/line?

I recently got a price from Acer to replace a 15.4 inch notebook screen...R4400 excl vat. Admittedly I did manage to find it cheaper..R2500 incl. But that's just the screen.

A while back you were able to buy Asus bare bone laptops and then add your own cpu, gpu, ram, hd etc.. I don't think you get them anymore.

I think he means customise his own laptop... but depending on the base model your choices are fairly limited.

If you really are serious about building your own... I have a cardboard case I can sell you for R1000.00 :)
