So about 2 to 3 years back I got plans approved to close off the back of my garage and extend it a bit. Got CoJ approval and everything, did the job, and thought it was done. Just got a call from CoJ asking if they can come do the final inspection as the file has now expired.

Anyone with any experience in this or advice? I made the appointment for Thursday afternoon, and figure I have little to worry about as we followed the plans for the most part (during building we adjusted one or two plumbing points).

Anyways, though I would ask to ensure I don't run into any trouble. CoJ officials make me nervous for the incouble (trouble due to incompetence) they sometimes cause.

If its similiar to COCT - they'll check that what was done was according to code, and the plans - then they'll bitch about things that had nothing to do with your renovations, but aren't inline with "new" code.

Well, he came on time, glanced at my very simple alterations for about 30 seconds, said it all looks good, and then asked for my contact details again to send results. He also asked for the chairmans details as they want to do inspections in the whole complex for illegal alterations. Fairly painless all in all.
