Building plans - as built

I have no idea!

I am in Boksburg, Gauteng.

The house next door just got sold... So could well be related to that, but man how petty would you have to be. It is by no means a nuisance. Said house also has a lapa literally on the boundary wall they share with me.

I divide life into two categories. The things I have control over and those I don't. Start by finding a solution and don't stress what you don't have control over. Just draw in the additions in the existing plans which you can get from the municipality and make a copy off and hand it back in again.

Thanks for your advice man, I really appreciate it.

You are right! I am going to the municipality in the morning to hopefully get the plans they have on record and will go from there.

Which is if there are every any issues and special consent is needed, you already have a good argument why approval can't be denied. Honestly I would not stress about it, stay calm and just communicate with them for the best solution.

Yeah, take it one step at a time. Get the plans, take some photos and come post again. Maybe all it needs is just a simple drawing.

Sooo little update.

I went and printed the plans that the municipality had on microfilm.

One of the sets shows the house as it is now, signed and stamped approved, the whole shebang. So it's all sorted.

I'm not sure why the notice was issued in the first place. And I'm still unsure where the complaint came from.

Lucky me!
