Bulls rock Thread

Well done to Wynand who has decided to stay. Apparently, the idea of playing in Cape Town just does not hold any appeal to anyone. Whohoooo!

Lol, not even to a brainless guy like him. :p

Glad he signed on for another 2 years as he is only reaching his full potential now :D

Count yourselves lucky for that win ..... Griquas being reduced to 13 men basically gifted the Bulls the win ;)

I didn't watch the game, but all I can say is that to win the Currie Cup you need dedication and discipline. The Griquas had neither of the two because they weren't able to get a lead of bigger than 8 point which would've made the seriously difficult to win.

Ask the Sharks... it happened twice to them - 2007 and again this year. The Bulls on the other hand, know how to win when the absolutely have to. Hats of to them for pulling it off this weekend.

I thought one Yellow was a fair call ..... to dish out another like the first just 30 seconds later was harsh. More harsh was that the very next infringement came from the Bulls camp and nothing as severe was done :(

Sorry, I can't comment. I haven't even seen a second of the highlights so I won't be able to comment on that.

Ref was being consistent.

Griquas lost the game all by themselves. 24-18 ahead with a kickable penalty and they opted to for touchline/try option. Failed. Lost.

Question I asked on Bulls site but no answer so maybe someone here knows. They list the 2009 Currie Cup squad to include the Bulls on Bok duty (Victor, Spies, Steyn, etc) but omit two key names: Bakkies and Bryan. Now I know Bryan is considering options etc but what is up with Bakkies? Why is his name absent from the squad listing? Does anyone know?

I only caught the radio scores being read out :(

M_H did the two yellow cardds in the last 10 minutes for the griekwas come about because the two griekwa players commited the same offence?

(What were they binned for?)

Realistically the Griquas were infringing the whole of the game. Going of their feet at almost every ruck and maul. The ref should have started sending of players much earlier. proper refereeing of the mauls and rucks from the start would have yielded a much different scoreline.

I believe the yellow cards were fair

as M_H said 1st one was blatant/obvious

2nd one i believe was justified as well, their captian [the 7's guy?] was lying on the wrong side of the ruck, and for 10-15 seconds, made NO attempt what so ever to roll away, thus slowing the ball down (bulls had a chance to score a try, if they could go wide immediately, IIRC commentator said something about 4 man overlap... thus professional foul, i would think]

Ruck offences ....... the worst type of yellow card IMO.

Ruck offence is a bit broad.... did they slow the ball down deliberately, did they clear the ruck without using their arms, did they persist in playing from an offside position?

Details man :p:D

Go and read about it for finer details dammit :p

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't use cards for ruck offenses .... I'm just saying it's the most one-sided type of carding we have. One team can get away with 11 ruck offenses with nothing happening while the other team gets carded after 4.

Tried to find a full report on the match...couldn't :(

My leet ugoogalizer skills are failing me!!!

I don't know if there is some kind of cruel irony at play here, but the team that produced the likes of Morne Steyn, can now not even post a ball between the posts from right in font of the posts, actually almost hit a poor lady standing next to the field.

First I vented my anger at Francis for his horrid horrid kicking, then they brought on Brummer(not in this game but previous games), and now he is kicking like a butthead. What to do now, alternate between equally dreadful kicking???

Thank the heavens for ol Petri, the man is a work horse, as Deon and Dewald.

Its time for the boks to return, this second team of the bulls is not helping the blood pressure
