Bulls rock Thread

And they're off with a win in 2012! Let's hope it remains this way.

+1. Very scrappy but a win is a win.

Ludeke better do handling drills with them as it was shocking how many unforced errors we made in the handeling department.

Ag it is first game of the season and all that, I think they did ok for losing all those big names. They will settle more as the weeks go by. Will be good to have a strong showing from the Bulls and Sharks this year (if the Sharks wake up).

Judging by the last 10-15 minutes the sharks can look forward to a lot of victories. I can not believe I am saying this but Mcloud actually gave the Sharks backline more direction than freddie.

Mcloud looked way better at scrum. Somehow think they were trying to get Freddie & Lambie on.

Personally I feel this is where the Bulls won the game.

Steyns kicking was not spot on as I remember at least four kicks that he either kicked to deep and the chasers had no chance to catch up or he kicked it so that the ball was in the sharks' 1/4 and they could call a mark.

If it is executed better it would be more effective. Luckly we have some good "air" collectors and the sharks were not playing at 100%.

Sadie out for three weeks :(

http://www.iol.co.za/sport/rugby/cup-competitions/bulls-sadie-out-for-three-weeks-1.1243628

Bulls centre Johann Sadie has been ruled out of action for between two to three weeks, after sustaining a shoulder injury against the Sharks on Friday.

According to the Bulls team doctor, Org Strauss, Sadie suffered a grade one tear on his AC joint.

“He should recover in two to three weeks,” Strauss said.

Strauss cleared Wynand Olivier, who had returned from a hand injury.

Morné Mellett (shoulder) and Arno Botha (back) should report back for duty with Sadie.

Dewald Potgieter (arm, six weeks) and Rossouw de Klerk (foot, end of May) are recovering well. – Sapa

On 702 yesterday, a few people phoned in bitching about the new entry system at Loftus. They were not allowed to enter at any gate and had to use the gate specified on their tickets. The problem occurred at Gate 8 where, it would appear, a minor stampede erupted. I entered at Gate 8 about 30 minutes before kick-off and of course I encountered no obstructions but it was delayed getting in. Anyone here have a bad experience?

Apparently Loftus management is meeting today to refine their entry system.

Reply from Barend, I assume sent to entire Bulls community:

On behalf of the Blue Bulls Company, I would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to you for supporting our first game which saw us beat the Sharks 18 – 13. Not only are we proud of our win, but we are also extremely grateful to you for sharing the moment with us. Your unwavering loyalty was demonstrated by the sold out ticket sales - a rare feat for a first game.

We would also like to take this time to apologise for the errors occurred in connection with the technical problems experienced with regards to our new ticketing process and access control. We are immediately rectifying the problems that were experienced, more specifically the allocation of tickets to specific gates. This will be changed going forward and we emphasise that we took all necessary steps to protect the safety of our spectators.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience experienced, as the Blue Bulls Company continuously strives to provide unrivalled quality and exceptional service at all times. We acknowledge the significant role that you, our fan plays in making the Blue Bulls franchise the success that it is today and we are humbled by your dedicated loyalty and support.

With Hougaard banned for one week I am very happy that we have Vermaak.

I wonder if we will have snyman on the bench for the Blues game.

Also may I just say to all the people that talk of boring bulls rugby never scoring just hiding behind the kicker..... the bulls are the only team to have a bonus point for 4 tries thus far :p (yes, yes I know it is only week 2 :p).

It may be early in season, but every point counts in the long run.

Haha, well the blues are a fickle team as last week they were poor and in the first match against the Saders they were looking good.

Add to this Ma'a Nonu, and Weepu are in the starting 15.....

I truelly do not know. I think I will go Bulls by 4 or some smallish margin as Hougaard is out and there are couple of slight injuries in the Bulls group. I am making this call more out of loyalty than any real other reason :o

Here I was thinking that the bulls are actually a better team than were last year.

Still need to see how they handle pressure, they've been the best at that by miles for the last few years.

I do think that the Blues SHOULD BE the best NZ team.

I have a feeling that this Bulls team could be a great team in about 1-2 year's time.

I also feel the Blues should be the best but they just fall flat every now and again... reminds me of the french rugby team of yesteryear at times :p:D
