Bumper Repair Cost

Hi y'all
So I know very little about a car, I reversed into my gate. Need my bumper fixed. I get quotes to replace the bumper for about 12k and quotes to repair the bumper for about 7k.
Some tell me I won't see it if it's been repaired, some say I have to replace.
Advice please!?

I'm not a technical person myself, but I would rather have that replaced. Just sounds like less drama for very little extra cost.

Did it come out of alignment where it meets the body? If it has then the plastic latches and holes are probably damaged and you will need a replacement.

Dent master did mine for R3500 repaired. reversed into pole was also on I20 at that time. Looked brand new afterwards. Most of other companies wanted to replace for 10k.

Get insurance to replace it?
