Hi all! I am thinking of moving to a new house in Burgandy Estate but have been hearing rumours that apparently they dont support ADSL? I would just like to know if it is true or not as i seriously require ADSL before moving to a new place.

Thanx for all the help.

Lol, well thought id ask here first, scince telkom doesnt have brightest people in the world and they take 5 years to do one thing ^_^. But ye fine ill do that then :(

Well, 2 of our clients wanted to go ADSL at BE, they couldn't so they called us and are now wireless clients.

We connected them last year (near the end of last year) so maybe since then, things have changed.

ADSL Burgundy Estate

I live in Burgundy Estate and have a 384 ADSL line.

You got ADSL in BE, lucky I have been fighting with them since begining March, and they say our area does not support ADSL, at all and there are no plans to upgrade it. :(

To What telkom office did you go to, to get your adsl? Because I started the process to get an ADSL line in December last year (!!!)...only got my telephone line about 2 months ago and now they say there is no infrastructure currently in place to provide me with ADSL, some **** about the wires being fiber and not copper.

Although i think they aren't too clued up on whats going on and want to go to another office.

I have checked it out before and, told them that the site said it was supported:

Adsl Support The exchange supports ADSL.

Your exchange supports ADSL.
Should you wish to register your details in order be contacted when the infrastructure issues are resolved, please click here.

The provision of Telkom's DSL service is subject to network availability, distance, copper quality and line sync speed limitations.

But they continued with their 'the line is fiber and not copper' argument, which frankly I don't understand. Telkom and their freaking infrastructure!!!
