I am not allowed to... I want to. Suggested going for some quick rings but I apparently have to be healthy tonight since I "will be going during the week in any case"...

the onion rings look awesome and those chilli cheese nuggets caaaaant waaaaaait!!! pity i didn't get
a chance today but I will make time damit!!!!

Looks better than I thought it would. Wonder when things will calm down there, want to try it out but no ways I'm standing in a queue for 2 hours.

I find its now the exception, not the rule. Strand Spur has upped their standards and even Monday night burgers are excellent, but our other local Spurs compete against McCrappies for worst foo
 
Regarding the onion rings, I don't enjoy them, food lovers market in Claremont serves better tempura styled ones with their burgers, also I prefer spur styled onions.

I had the same O styled onion rings at McDonald's while in Europe, frozen doughy crap. Yuk.
 
I really don't know what all the fuzz is about. If I look at the pictures, the patties looks like your average South African soy patties (I can see the soy beans).
Maybe BK pumps more MSG's in, I don't know. I think most people is having a placebo effect when eating this burgers.

Ag well, I never was a take-away guy. Rather make my own pattie and braai it myself. Prepare my own bacon etc.

Totally agree. Spur has gone really really bad for the price. I hate eating there now. Can't wait to have BK, just waiting for it to quiet down.

I just took one from the fridge and I can't believe it, they are even tasty when cold - they aren't doughy and they don't go soft, still crunchy and flavorful!

Ya nothing special actually, plenty of burger joints that serve better, it is just the hype created by an iconic brand landing here.

Yes I make my own too, same with fries, they always taste better and fresher.
The BK fries tasted like your average frozen crap.
 
Think I should have gone to BK with lower expectations. Everything was nice and all but the patties were very very similar to McDonalds...
But yeah, onion rings and chilli cheese bites were good
