There are two branches right in the middle of the Joburg CBD (2 blocks away from each other for some reason...).
It's convenient for me!

Tried out the one in Hatfield last month. At 1am I had a drip on my left arm for a few hours due to food poisoning. And the meal was so good. I don't think I have the guts to try out burger king again.

Funny you should say that, my son got quite ill after he had eaten from the Norwood BK. I won't go near them now.

Man, I wish BK had some drive throughs
I got Mickey D's tonight cause i was too lazy to cook or get anything else. I'm so over it, the burgers are mediocre and the service is terrible (Milnerton branch).

Grabbed some BK overseas...was thoroughly underwhelmed tbh. Would rather have a SA KFC doublecrunch (overseas KFC are crap).

Subway sandwiches are pretty nice though.

Same in CT CBD yet to this day I've never been inside to order anything...

I've eaten BK sandton and always felt fine afterwards,

I didn't go, he had a whopper or double whopper knowing him (if there is such a thing). He was ill and couldn't eat for around 3 days, **** happens with fast food. I Didn't go tell them, what can they do except go meh...just wont set foot in any of them.

Who makes the best takeaway burger in South Africa?

Andrew Ross, MD of Havas Sport and Entertainment, ordered a cheese burger and chips from the standard menus of Steers, Wimpy, McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Nando’s and Chicken Licken.

The burgers were judged according the following criteria:

Value – price and portion size

Presentation - Quality and appeal of burger and chips. Includes a comparison of the menu photo to the actual product.

Taste - Blind taste testing by panel of 14 people. Chips are judged separately and scores are averaged.

Brand - Overall in-store experience, presentation of staff, cleanliness of store, greetings and time of order from entry to exit.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Ross.

Tried the Veg burger.
Absolute trash, worst ever, yet their USA veg burger is probably the best.
Tried the various Chicken burgers and don't like it.
Has a bit of a sour taste (mayo).

Funnily for me, BK is the last joint i would go to, even below KFC.

Agreed, I've had BK twice and both times it was not great at all... I would rather have McD's over BK and McD's is drunk food at best.

BK opened up down the road, so had to try it.

Whopper was pretty good - lots of pickles and onion just like I like it. Onion rings were meh, weren't as crispy as I remember the ones in the UK being (maybe they were just standing too long).

The UK BK is vastly different. Even the milkshake is not comparable.

Better burger here, but shake needs to go or change. Even the staff won't recommend it.

Stores tend to be erratic. No mayo or no buns, no fizz in the drinks on occasion.
The chips are good, but oversalted and not up to Steers quality.

The burger was indeed better, really impressed actually. Ingredients tasted really fresh, right amount of mayo, etc. Hope they keep it up.
