nah...got to a point where i was mixing the drinks in one cup...just to get a cocktail of sorts...

As long as you'd paid for the drink and consume the contents of the 2L bottle there they probably wouldn't mind but that's not what you're talking about is it?
Just because you go to a buffet and fill your plate with different foods it doesn't mean you can pack a suitcase with food and take that home with you, does it?
That aside, I sill don't understand why you think they would have a problem with you mixing pepsi and orange soda…

Why would it cost more?
It's flavoured syrup, water and Co2. 50% Pepsi and 50% Orange costs them the same as 100% Pepsi or 100% Orange, or any other flavour. Because a) some people want a bigger cup for their take aways, and b) because it comes as part of a larger meal.

Bringing a bucket to a buffet instead of using the plates provided should be fine, right?

That was my point, if they don't measure the drinks, it could easily happen.
It's like a unattended ice cream machine, somebody can just abuse it very easily.

Agreed, I'd never do that, it's the fact that it's possible worries me....Just because you can, it doesn't mean you should.
