Burger Mayonnaise

Please, i would really appreciate that. Which part of the country are you from?

If they sold this abroad it would be called: Burger Salad Cream. Or does Cross&Blackwell actually make proper mayo nowadays?
I think it was in the UK that they stopped selling salad cream because over time, the two ended up tasting the same.

I've used their Trim line for years on burgers and everything.

It's the better compromise between too rich and egg heavy mayo and no eggs at all.

I had the new burger mayo and it reminded me of miracle whip but not as creamy and slightly tangy, basically a mix of Trim & miracle whip. It was ok but I prefer Trim on a burger, I definitely won't be keeping a bottle in the fridge.

Make your own mayonnaise, once you are skilled you will never go back to mass produced mayo.

I second this one.
Mass produced mayo is full of crap and tastes like it too.

It takes only 2 - 3 minutes to make really good mayo.

I would say make your own burger dressing. It's more appropriate than a simple mayo.

I make my own mayo for my burgers. Store stuff is ok, but home-made is like having an orgasm in your mouth.

We have it, don't use it much.
I don't like Cross & Blackwell anyway - mayo needs to be creamy, not sour/tangy.

Also. don't put mayo on your burgers. only use pickles, mustard and ketchup.

just saying guys, lower your expectations or give it a skip if you don't like C&B anyway....

Saw this weekend at our PnP. Did not buy it though, but am curious.

The other day had lunch at Melissas in Parkhurst. Had chippies and asked for a side of mayo with it. They make their own mayo and even though I enjoy my store bought mayo, THIS WAS AMAZING! Was not sour or tangy like the store bought ones, but thick, creamy and a nice clean taste. Was really really yummy.

I mix mayo and ketchup to make a marie rose sauce for burgers. The ketchup sweetens the sourness of the mayo

That's actually a good idea. Imma gonna try that this week when I do burgers.

Sounds yummy! Do you have a recipe I can use to make mayo?

1 large egg yolk, whipped
1 1/2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon woolies mustard
Enough salt plus white pepper to taste
3/4 cup canola oil

I just slowly add the oil and whisk it for around 10 minutes then refridgerate it.
