Business Fibre options

Hi All,

Looking at business fibre for 3 sites around RSA. I don't mind our Internet lines being consumer grade, but I am looking for decent SLA and support for voice/VPNs. Unless consumer grade is now at the level that it could be considered for this?
I have an ISP doing our fibre lines for email/browsing/updates etc. Can anyone recommend an ISP doing business lines? I've looked at Vox...they're OK.

Picked up on MTN; Vodacom's site seems to be broken (well, their business site).
 
Avoid Vox. We had them for business lines. They are bloody sharks .

There's a post on this board with our experiences.

Disclosure:
Vox is my ISP at home. Need to change but just can't be bothered with the admin to do it. Reliable service on OpenServe hence not bothering too much. Just downloaded 600GB in the last day for Synology review I am doing.

So often it's not a choice between consumer and business grade as the building will typically have either or. IE a business park won't have consumer options. Drop us a mail on [email protected]

FTTH in SA is pretty good. You can expect line speed or close to it almost all the time. SLA is where the BIG difference is. Depending on FNO it ranges from 2 to 5 working days. Usually much faster but with FTTH there is no guarantees and if techs aren't available they aren't available and you will wait for it to be fixed. FTTB takes priority and have set SLA which they adhere to.

If you want SLA and Support guarantees you need to take a FTTB option. If you just want internet and don't mind SLA or support guarantees then if an FTTH option is available that can be an option but you need to invest in a mobile data failover if your business is crucial to having an internet connection.

Ideally my set up would be as follows:

1. Primary line with x-ISP on x-FNO
2. Secondary line with Axxess on Openserve

Only issue I can see here is if everything runs through the same exchange box and that is broken. Then I am stuffed. The other option would be maybe a wireless link where necessary as the primary line.

So again based on location if you have dual consumer FNOs as options great, but it's not often a choice.

Are you looking to create a private WAN between the 3 sites?
