Butter or Margarine?

You guys are amateurs... first make toast, take hard brick of butter out of fridge, take blunt bread knife(better leverage with a big knife but you want a blunt one so you don't slice the fingers in the process) and skim off nice thin slices of butter, place thin slices of butter on toast and watch as it melts, spread when at suitable softness.
Done.. and it works every day of the year even with rock hard butter.
Gas stove on. Heat butter knife. Spread butter on whatever with hot butter knife.

Noobs.

Why waste your time with refrigerated butter?

Oh, butter! How I love butter and dairy in general, but I haven't been able to consume any dairy for just over a year now; since I was treated for gastritis and a possible H. Pylori infection with antibiotics and PPIs. These days it's coconut oil and salt or olive oil and salt... But I still wouldn't touch marge with a 10-foot pole!

Perfect spreadable goodness all year round. The water and the ceramic helps regulate the temperature ,
Not in my experience with similar containers in the summer heat, the butter also goes rancid quickly but does that have like some kind of water jacket on it that makes it extra insulated?!

Yes - the water prevents air getting to the butter. You may not have been using similar containers in the past. :)

Ok I see you have added a pic, or it wasn't showing on my side for some reason earlier, very cool, I can see that would be far superior to any standard butter container.

Betty bought butter man. Stay away from margarine, they say it's one molecule away from being plastic - I'm not gonna google this, but stay away from margarine.

Thank you and good night :)

Is that similar to salted butter?

Wish it was easier to find unsalted butter.

Clover makes Mooi River (Salted) and Springbok (Unsalted) butter. It is in those gold foil wrappings.

They pretty common in large chain supermarkets. Clover butters don't taste the same now as compared to 20 years ago sadly.

If you want top-quality butter try Mooberry. It's a bit pricey at R163 per 500 gram block though.

Butter, always butter.

You aren’t having real food if it’s all made with margarine.

Water is one molecule away from peroxide, lots of things are one molecule away from something deadly. But that one molecule makes a difference
