Hi guys,

Here is my dilemma. Thanks for all the help previously with buying a pc, I havent decided yet.

Anyway, my cousin lives in England. He's coming down at the end of this year and he has offered to buy me a pc as long as i pay him for it when he arrives. According to him he can actually purchase a really good quality pc on ebay (which according to him is a reliable and fantastic way to shop if you know how) for a fraction of the price you can get here.

I just was looking at ebay.co.uk now and there is a GeForce 8800 ultra (second hand) 768mb selling for about 200 pounds e.t.c

a Q6600 (brand new) selling for 130 pounds.

He also says that in the UK second hand computer parts do not hold value at all (unlike here) because most people would rather buy new, so according to him you can get intact, quality components at a really cheap price.

Please help - is this worthwhile?

Thanks guys,
stfury

It is worthwhile IMO, as long as the ebay seller's are rated highly enough and the parts are new enough. You won't have any warranty to fall back on, so it's a risk.

i dunno if something fails long wait for replacement

not worth the saving i think unless nothing ever breaks

hmm

lets say i dont care about warranty - then theres no other problems from buying overseas?

and how good is this chip first time i saw it
