That's not how amazon works, if something is wrong they send you new one or refund you. Nothing to worry about. It wasn't so much the warranty as I worried about (buying a Dell), but the possibility of not getting the product, getting the wrong product or getting a damaged product... has anyone bought a laptop from them and being quite happy with the experience?

I am researching importing a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 and as far as I can tell from SARS the import duty is 9%.I just found the most incredible price on a laptop and discovered at checkout that there's a 2k customs fee - goddamit! back to square one![]()

HOWEVER...that is 9% added on the total amount, and once they have a total they add 15% vat.
Think of it this way - If you want to import something that is also made (or sold here) you will pay through your nose.
My wifi Tab S6 via Amazon worked out to more money than buying a new LTE version on bidorbuy.
Please do - i'd likeMaybe @Flashgear can help you with a laptop.
Yep - that sounds about right. Was super disappointed to see the import duty is so highPhones are different to computers.
For a laptop you will pay 15% on 110% of the items value excluding shipping. So if a laptop is R10k you will pay 15% of R11k.
Pop us the link there boetIt still works out cheaper than local most of the time. I am eyeing an ASUS FX505 laptop which is 3k cheaper from amazon (that's once you've added import tax and express shipping).

HOWEVER, I have found a local supplier who seems to be bringing it in the same model at only a few hundred bucks more. They do have only a 60 hz screen on their specs though, so I am just confirming that. Will DM you that link because I don't want people to jump on this bandwagon before I've had a chance to confirm this and buy one for myself![]()
Do they calculate based off the USD price or do they convert to Rand? Also do they calculate the full price or the price you paid if there was a discount?Phones are different to computers.
