Buying a 2nd Hand Car Privately

I meant to say that the seller doesn't have to sign your blue form if you are the buyer, but you as the buyer definitely has to sign it. That's correct isn't it? Else I just managed to register a car in my name without the previous owner's signature :P

Actually he should have signed the yellow form in which the car goes out of his name and in to yours. :p

Yeah, so it goes something like this (think of the Matrix while reading):

You take the blue form: the buyer completes all sections, no signature required from the seller.
You take the yellow form: the buyer completes only section B, and the seller completes sections A and C.

The buyer walks away with the blue form and vehicle's registration form and the seller leaves with the yellow form and hopefully some cash.

I need some help, apparantly Nov 2010 last year the Roadworthy Certificate was ammended to 21 Days.

Before that it was 6 Months. The car im buying had the certification done in Sep.
Will the car still need to go for Roadworth Cert again?
 
Why are they so anal about the yellow form being yellow? Mine is white I think. Havent handed it in yet as roadworthy not done. Now I'm hoping that the original owner signed in the correct location! For some reason I think he might have signed section A.
 
You will have to re roadworthy the car. I sold a second hand WRX at the end of December and the guy didn't register it on time, so we had to do another roadworthy this morning...bloody pain in the butt! :mad:
