Buying a bed

Nobody said guarantee. Warranty.

And as was said already look under Features on that website I linked to it’s listed there for each brand.

Or phone a bed shop tomorrow if you are that desperate to be sure.

But you’ve had at least three different people here confirm it for you. And it’s there on all the websites if you make the effort.

It’s been a thing for many years. Just because you were blissfully unaware of it doesn’t make it untrue.

No need to get testy.... ;)

And one last thing... don't be a knee tester, for whatever reason people walk in to stores, stick their knee on the end and lean in like its somehow going to magically give them the answers to life, the universe and everything... its a bed, lie on the damn thing

Yeah that’s I’ll never understand.

Same as people who buy cars without test driving them.

Hey kicking the tires of a car tells me everything I need to know about it!

Jokes I will definitely lie down on them.

EDIT: I must say, I am not thrilled about having to suddenly lay out R15k or so, BUT I am looking forward to having a new bed.

The one I have now is a Henwood queen size Wonder Sleep. New one will be queen extra length.

I honestly think you could do just fine at the 10k region if you don't want to go crazy.

But laying about on them should tell all.

Just take your own pillow along.

I bought the cloud nine grande king xl in November last year
https://www.themattresswarehouse.co.za/product/cloud-nine-grande-sleep-king-xl-mattress/

Got it for just under 11k incl delivery, not from the mattress warehouseas they wouldnt budge on price and didnt respond to my email query, so looked elsewhere.
The nice thing about this particular model is that it isnt white labeled, so all the stores should have the same model, so easier to compare for pricing.

Where did you buy it from?

I see you've stopped fighting the fight but failed to admit that everyone was correct about their statements...

Oh goodness. I haven't done either yet, because I got bored and did something else, and will pursue the links on another occasion. But I will note your insistence on needing a confirmation of others being correct for any future debates between us....

*thinks back to old debates where this might not have been forthcoming from someone....*

the bedstore
was actually R11550

Thanks. I had a look at their website, but what I don't like about it is that it doesn't tell you whether the mattress is firm, gentle or plush (in most cases). So, I would have to find information on the mattress from anywhere else.

I'll test out some mattresses at the mattress warehouse tomorrow, and do a price check online before I buy.

let me go look again - couldn't see a 23 warranty.

How the heck didn't you find that but then feel justified in proceeding to insult and provoke people? :crylaugh:

Precisely why I'm hammering on the point as it's typical of what you would have done if the roles were reversed.

It actually makes no difference whatsoever to me, I'm just illustrating to you how irritating and unnecessary it can be.

Where did I insult? I didn't find it because I didn't find it Archer.

But that reminds me - did you answer my question last night...let me go look...

Sure man....I truly believe you.

I think I need a mattress and a base. The bed I have now is a mattress and base set, so I think maybe it is best to replace both at the same time?

I also need to decide if I want to go from queen to queen extra length. Wonder if it is worth it. I'm 1.86m tall, but if I upgrade to queen extra length, it also means new sheets and duvet etc.

If your feet is hanging off at the end of the bed, it can also be playing a part in your back pain. Get the extra length. It is definitely worth it.

They don't really, I don't think. I sleep on my side with my knees bent.

Thank me later

Bought this bed almost a year ago and love it to bits. Nice and firm bed and really soothes the back.

I bought this one last year, and it now has a a deep pit in the foam where I sleep. I went for the heavyweight option but I’m only about 85 kg’s

Now thinking of upgrading, nothing worse than a mattress you’re not happy with.
Maybe I just got a dud one

Viscopedic King size extra length - best R12k I ever spent. (http://www.viscopedic.co.za)
Memory foam is definitely where it's at. (14-21 days to make it for you, 2-5 days delivery)

About R3k for a memory foam "cover" for the other bed (from takealot - orthopedic memory foam topper), which also makes a world of difference. I had to do without it for the past 2 weeks and back pains returned. Got it back last night and I was lights out again <3
If you are wary in spending $$$ on memory foam maybe go for a topper? It won't go wasted as you can just use it on the old bed still to add that layer of comfort.

Be warned, you need those extra deep fitted sheets... normal ones don't fit well.
