What are you so surprised about? That's essentially what you're saying here::wtf:
I would still rather crash in something that has been built with higher quality materials

Probably one of the best in its class. Other brands may offer more features, but nothing beats the Polo's drive and quality.
The Fiesta does...![]()
Hi guys, I need advice. I am looking to buy a used car as my first car. Ive been looking at a 2014 polo 1.4 comfortline with 30000km on the clock, car still has warranty and service plan with vw. The car is selling for R155900. Do you guys think its a good buy? I should go ahead and buy the car or u think otherwise? I need your advice.
I am looking for a car the will be cheap to maintain and not too expensive to rum. Looking to keep the car for years to come..
Please advise me on the pros and cons of the car.
Thank you
Better safety? Debatable - both the A4 and Polo 6R obtained 5-star EuroNCAP ratings.

Lol, was also waiting for it...
Are you punting balloons?
The pic was to highlight...the 208. A very competent B-segment car.
I don't understand how some people care so little about their safety. I'd much rather take a safer car that's less flashy than a flashy car that'll kill me if I so much as blink in the wrong direction. I really like those old minis and this is the reason I'll never buy one.Exactly. I don't buy a car for how well it can crash.
I don't recall ever giving permission for a credit check with insurance and I've jumped a **** load over the years.
For finance it would make obvious sense, but for insurance which is a month to month cost I'm not convinced.
I know they do count the fact that you are married or single and whether you own a home or not in your risk profile, but generally more for household insurance as I recall. But again that was more towards the finance side of things.
I have definitely been asked for permission to access my credit record when getting quotes for car insurance, last that requested it if I recall correctly was Miway. From what I understand they all do it at some stage of the process, probably part of why they charge you that R200-R300 admin fee to initiate a policy.
I recently had a chat with the head of an insurance brokerage about how your credit rating can affect your premium, he mentioned it's more important to some underwriters than others, Santam apparently is one that takes credit reports quite seriously.
Check your free credit report, shows which companies requested your report.
Nee volk, I was properly tipsy that particular night after having worked on my pool in the gorgeous weather that day - with a beer or two. Credit rating not much part of it - where you stay; what colour car; your prior history; where do you park blah blah blah.
Eish. I is a bit embarrassed about that![]()
