Where is a the best place to buy a cellphone online. (Online because I live in a small town where the only source of phones is the cellular provider shops (MTN, Voda, CellC )

I need a phone, in which I will use a pre-paid SIM, and do not want any contract all .. all I want is the damn phone.

I can't get it through to the cellular shop assistants that I do NOT want any contract at all.

You should be able to buy the phone from any of the cellular providers, as long as you tell them you want to buy the phone as a prepaid phone.
You may however have to buy a prepaid SIM for it, and RICA the SIM with the phone.
Nothing stops you from swapping your current SIM with the new one through.

Which phone do you want to buy?

Which phone do you want to buy?

A phone with a fairly large screen, and easy to use keyboard (for ageing eyes). All it needs to do is make & receive voice calls and the odd SMS. It will not be used for any internet-dependant functions like vleisbook, twitter, etc.

Thanks for the responses above ... I didn't even think about the Pep & Ackermans pre-paid offers ... I have both those stores in my Dorp, so will see what they have

All providers will sell a phone on prepaid. It just might not be advertised. I bought my note 2 last year the day it was available, on prepaid. Also you can check with Bfore.co.za... They usually have some great deals on phones

OP have you tried Incredible Connection/ Dion wired and have you decided how much are you willing to spend on a phone/smartphone. Alternatively if you do visit the city end of month why not pop into any Edgars/CNA sometimes they do have good deals. Purchased a SamSung Ativ S 8570 for R2500, no complaints whatsoever .

Large screen, I'd say an Huawei P6 its 4.7-5" or so and it retails for less than R5000... or get a Note 1, has a massive screen. Note 2 for R5grand at Dionwired.

Cash Crusaders or similar?

Seems like a very basic 2nd hand phone might do everything you want unless obviously want a new phone....

The best buy at present : nexus 4 16Gb at Orange for R3,295 (all costs included). Gorilla Glass 2 ,Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait and 2Gb ram, flies rings around Huawei p6 and Samsung S3

I bought my Samsung Galaxy S3 from Vodacoms online store - paid cash, no contract etc included.
