This all still sounds like a random shot in the dark. :p
I have no idea how the tension and power zone settings should be. I'll just use plain gut instinct.

Use high tension initially, which will give you less power, but teaches you to control your shots. Once you feel comfortable with that, buy some genuine string and have your racquet restrung and tell them to string it at low tension (power).

Go to Baseline Sports in Groenkloof. seeing that you are in Pretoria. They'll sort you out on brand, grip and head sizes, string tension, etc. And they are not more expensive that Sportsmans Warehouse. Try playing with a demo first.

I think you have a good plan there. Do you know where in Groenkloof it is?

Baseline Sports is just off George Storrar Drive in the shopping centre across the Little Company of Mary hospital.

Wilson's PRO range of racquets (K Factor), now has an advanced junior one. It's quite a nice racquet and is going for R999. I would have gotten me one but I had already bought some other Wilson model a few weeks before.

That tennis-warehouse site is awesome... it's interesting to read what the difference is between all the racquets...

I can't imagine that a tennis forum can be as much fun as an IT forum. :)

But now I have to start putting some serious effort in to get fit again...
I'm planning on getting a skipping rope this weekend, seeing as I hate jogging and gearing up for cycling is just too much effort.

Definitely not much more fun that an IT forum :) but it's a good resource if you wanna research about racquets etc :)
