Buying a used suv

Test drove the cx5 and absolutely loved it. What are your thoughts on buying the older models versus the newer models? Model in question is a 2015 in excellent condition for 250k

I prefer the previous Gen, the nose on the current one is just too snouty for my liking. It was such a quality package, I doubt there's much you'll miss that is in the new model.

You could also look at the Haval, mate of mine has the h2 pre facelift, so the first ones that came in, they happy with it. New the h2 city is 290k I think. The luxury is 320k. So you might get a second hand luxury with min km on for your budget.

P.s I am on the same quest, want to exchange my old tiguan in, but car prices have become mal.

I have driven a Honda CRV in the Cederberg and in the appalling roads in the Kaghlahari Park and it coped very well. The original Goodyear tyres were not too good in the Cederberg and got damaged on some of the stonier sections even though I was driving slowly

These were replaced by Goodyear Wrangler AT SA after speaking to some of the guys on the 4x4 Forum. These have stood up much better than the originals. Slightly noisier on tar doing 130km/hr and have done 22000 km without any visible wear

Another friend has a Haval SUV. You get a lot of car for your money. He had a Range Rover Disovery before and is of the opinion that the Haval is better built

It's either a Range Rover or a LR Discovery, and the only way you can compare any of those to a Haval is if it is a 1980 model.

Well, his Discovery was a 2009 model
The Haval seems to have all the bells and whistles. But it only 18 months old

CX-5 's are awesome even the previous generation. From my research when i was looking into buying one, nothing much goes wrong with them.
I searched long and hard to find my 2017 model.

The 2015 model that you interested in, how many kilos does it have and spec model is it?

I did also look at the H2 Haval and yes in terms of specs the haval is fully loaded and the build quality i dont know much.

My sister bought 1 beginning of this year and it has not done much kilometers to date and i am yet to drive it.

I still think the CX-5 is bigger than the H2 Haval.
Actually from what i have read the H6 competes with CX-5.

the 2015 model has 40k km on it. Looks like the guy barely drove it.

That car is new and hardly driven.
Is the active(cloth seats) or dymanic model(leather) and auto

Grab that SUV and you will enjoy good motoring experience.
automatic + cloth seats + navigation (i see not all of them have this by default?)

at the current economic rate.. a nice anti mine tank from Denel is going for a "steal"....
