Buying an Xbox 360

Where is the cheapest place to get a new one, and is elite worth it, or will premium make do ?

i want to go buy one this week, and been a bit out the loop of things :)

If you can get (and afford the Elite) then go for it! As the 120Gb drive itself is the same price as an ARCADE (thank MiD for ripping us all a new one!)

As far as I understand, all cost from R2400 upwards.

The Pro should be good enough, unless you really want an extra 60GB.

um .. well.

don't really want to play "legitimately" ... like on Xbox live :) rather play back-ups... so ya:) which is best and cheapest... and how do you "mod" an xbox..

Buy a Xbox 360 Pro 60GB - more than enough space plus the new ones have hdmi out and optical audio.

ok well legalities aside, are any places offering specials or anything.. i'll go for the pro i rate..

just most places are selling it for like R4000... but found a few for like R2800 but then they have no stock...

Not going to say too much on the subject - but if you really want to go down that route get someone to do it.

Don't even try it yourself - you will mostly likely end up with a expensive door stop.

Because that's the new price. (after Jan 19th anyway)

That 2800 will be adjusted once stocks return to normal, I'm affraid.

www.cybergames.co.za sell chipped xboxes and 'backed up' games.

EDIT: HOW they do this without being busted I'll never know.

Chipped Xbox's aren't illegal but 'backup games' sure are.

guys sorry if this is a stupid question... but I was considering buying an xbox in December... I've been putting it off because quite frankly i don't need it, it would just be a nice to have and Its not responsible to just buy things cause I can...

now, its still been on my mind and today I decided to say the hell with it and went to buy the 360 Pro... Now baring in mind this was 2700 when I looked at it dec28th... now all of a sudden its 3800?? wtf??? is there a new model or something?? cause it looked like the same bundle deal to me... 2 stupid ass games? indiana and kung fu something or other?? whats the story here...
