Buying extra Bandwith

I might have missed this in the posts, but does anybody know if any of the ISPs will be offring "top up" bandwith?

eg: I buy a 3GB package from Bob's ADSL and I run out, I now phone Bob and ask for an extra 2 GB as I need to download extra porn.

So now I get an extra 2Gb added to account instead of having to purchase an additional 3Gb ...

I think its pretty much up to Bob after 1/11 BlobNow

BTW - Bob's my Uncle.
 
I know one of the ISP's is going to offer 1GB topup, but I can't remember which one it was. I believe I saw it on their website.

So I'm sure you'll find other ISP's doing the same. It makes sense to be able to topup your account if need be. Especially if local capping means we won't be able to check our locally hosted email. (Which I think it absolutely crazy).

Not at all. BUT, it's still better than having to buy another 3GB account for R249 like we had to do before. Especially for those who only get capped a day or two before the end of the month.
 
a good option or not, its still expensive as hell and a ripoff

SAOL will be offering online top up options on all ADSL accounts - shaped options include:

2 Gig R 169 Incl.
5 Gig R 299 Incl.
10 Gig R 349 Incl.

Top up will cost R69 / Gig.

Pedantic, are you still reselling SAIX accounts? If so, thats not a bad price for a 10GB account. More than we should be paying, but not bad as prices go.
 
there has been a provider all the time!! - VODACOM, with their family top-up contract.

ya wen ur bandwdth/airtime runs out u can just go down to ur nearest store and purchase a recharge voucher which increases ur bandwidth/airtime.

prices range from: R29 airtime/ 29Gb bandwidth = +- R27.99c
R55 airtime/ 55Gb bandwidth = +- R59.99c.....

If 1Gb is R 69 ............How can you offer 10GB for R349?????
 
SAOL offers the best SAIX 1Gig topup packages as far as I can see.

Yes, these prices are correct and are SAIX based accounts on a month to month basis.

In the near future we will have a broader range of products at even better prices as we will be providing ADSL via our own network infrastructure (using IP connect).

is there anything to stop you from buying 2 10gb accounts pm instead 10gb + 10 topups?
