So my S3 mini's battery is swollen which causes the phone to reboot when the battery goes below 60% charge. Apparently this was caused due to overcharging, which I thought wasn't a thing anymore.

I need to buy a new battery and my options are as follow:

From Cell C:
SAMSUNG Battery - 1500mAh (6 month warranty) - R400
Cell C branded battery - 1000mAh (12 month warranty) - R170

From a non-franchise shop:
Unknown brand battery - ????mAh (16 month warranty) - R350 (I hadn't asked about the strength as I was out of there quite quickly after hearing the price)

The Samsung one is expensive, but would give a longer battery life than the Cell C one.

Which one should I buy?

From a warranty point of view, the Cell C one makes more sense. However, from battery life point of view, Samsung makes more sense. If Cell C has one with the same mAh as the Samsung, go that. Strange that the warranty is only 6 months?

Ok so for interest's sake, I went for the Samsung battery. My phone used to average 8h battery life after a full charge, and at the moment it's at 7% after 24h. Somehow I think the old battery was always forked.

I need to get a new battery as well, mine is screwed... Barely lasts half the day and when I take it off charge it's still convinced it's charging. Were they fairly easy to find?

Had to do a lot of digging around. Mall@reds didn't have any, could only find at centurion mall cell c.

Throw the swollen battery away. Lipo batteries are dangerous when they have swollen up. Could explode or catch alight anytime.

I bought a replacement battery for my Note I from dealextreme since my original did the same thing yours did. Works perfectly.

I have 1900mah , i imported it.

have not used , you can have it for 100 bucks.

Gf bought new one before it arrived.

Went to Samsung Customer Care yesterday - they quoted me R350 for an S3 mini Samsung battery. Luckily they didn't have any in stock... Went to Vodacom today and they charged me R275 for exactly the same thing.

I know this thread's more than a month old :p But anyway...

Blah... I need a new battery as well...

Where's the best places to go which won't rip you a new one?
