So the Leap Motion sensor now has a shipping date, 13 May.
Shucks the lower pre order price ended yesterday
https://www.leapmotion.com/

Looks like it will be bundled with Asus laptops or purchased stand alone, and in the new future I assume just built into laptops/pc's.

If I could have done, I would have bought shares in these guys last year. I think this will be really really big.

Thats pretty cool but there is no way I will replace my mouse with that.

Can you imagine what your hand and arm would feel like at the end of a long day at the office.

It is going to be great for people who have arthritis etc, my mom for one struggles with a mouse.
Office of the future is going to look weird with hands flying around etc

Nothing will replace a mouse for certain types of desktop control. But imagine using this as a touchscreen replacement for instance, or as a remote control for your home theatre. Pr as an ad hoc gaming controller for certain kinds of games. Or as a design tool, for heavy 3d engineering or medical imaging, or any kind of 3d design.

The subject was "Bye Bye Mouse, Hello Hand" hence my response I defenately see the use in this but I put it in the specialized use department.

Future cerebus is cringing at this statement.

Lol ok I won't make absolute statements.

Yeah but I wouldn't even say the use cases are that specialized. At least not more than a mouse can be considered a specialized use case.

Any idea if a local distributor will be bringing these in? If nobody, i rate Esquire to push these out to us on mybroadband.

Really nice to see the shipping date confirmed. I will definitely be getting one. I am no good at reviews but will possibly do one but no guarantees :p.

Not bad, only $15 shipping to SA, not that I think it will replace my mouse anytime soon I still think it will have it's uses.

Looks interesting. For fine control a mouse will still be king but I'm sure it will have it's uses.
