I am today FED UP and tired of redirects and Loudmo, IamWired, etc, contextual rediverts, Nothing seems to kill it. So instead of an reinstall I will rather try Chrome, Opera and stick to IE as my default for now.

This Loudmo disease is becoming a disaster for FF. A pity as I quiet liked the browser.

It's a adware program that loads LoudMo:p :p :p. Even after removal it's hidden drivers keep on redirecting the FF browser popping up garbage! Apparently only reinstall helps!

Then again you could have googled the info if you did not use FF :p

Confirmed, user fail.

Why not add the following code to your hosts file :

Code:
127.0.0.1 winmo.com
127.0.0.1 slomo.com
127.0.0.1 loudmouth.com
127.0.0.1 whatevermoouth.com

to your hosts file?

So whichever program tries to access winmo.com is redirected to 127.0.0.1, and times out :D

So are you really so pi$$ed of that Mozilla are not so "Kush" as made out to be? Seems to me FF are actually more vulnerable as IE, its not as "safe" as perceived.

Anyway thanks Zen my Baas, I will sometime try those with FF if I ever install it again. ATM I am really anti FF and searching the net for Loudmo I am not the only one. It will be with everyone sooner than later...WHY?

I use Firefox, never had the slightest problem?

PEBKAC?

As long as nothing installs those links I referred in my previous post you would be fine. Once FLV direct, Babelfish or the others get installed by whatever/whoever, You'd wish you never had the problem. Funny that they did not attack IE tho.

its not as "safe" as perceived.

The only safe computer is one unplugged from the Power, you should know this :)

Perceiving something to be entirely safe is a fallacy, software capable of being locked-down with limited "in-the-wild" vulnerabilities > 2nd Most Exploited software on the market for security
Much like osx vs windows debate,it isn't impervious, just not as commonly exploited ;)

How did the adware get loaded in the first place?

Who knows? It seems the payout is so good that many will sneak it in for you. The main issue is that NONE of the standard anti Ad-aware programs detect and remove them at all. I cannot get Combofix to run on Windows7 everything else I used failed to detect the culprit.

You're no noob, so why behave like one blaming FF for your own self-made problem? You allowed the adware to get on there. IE will suffer the same problem. Probably worse. Rather spend a bit of time trying to find out how to rid yourself of the adware, as some above have tried to show you. A bit of searching, deleting a couple of reg keys and you're usually cleaned up pretty fast. These things are generally pretty lame and easy to clean in my experience. I'm only prompted to post this 'cos it burns my butt hearing people blaming something or someone else for their own ****ups. FF is a good browser. It can't be your babysitter though.
