I did advise them to either drop the offering or increase the required experience. They decided to leave the ad as it is with the upper end of the offer applying to more experience. They would prefer more experience instead of reduced budget.

I would honestly prefer more experience myself (2 to 3 years) as I have to head up this department from next month, so glad they chose this route.

EDIT: This company is growing at quite a fast pace. I started consulting for them in 2005 somewhere. At the time there were 2 people in the company with a few technicians in the field (2 or 3). After I completed the software and maintained it for a few years, they started marketing it and employed a junior dev to handle maintenance, reporting, etc... of the software. I went on to work on other projects for other clients.
Beginning of 2013 they contacted me to assist with upgrading the software and handle a few more projects. Now they were at 74 staff!
I have moved into a more perm contracting position (they did offer full perm) and will be building the software dev area from next month when they move to Hartees (moving month end).

This company is growing nicely and provides some great opportunities. Well worth it for a junior (to intermediate?) looking to pack on some more experience.

Technologies in use are MVC, C#, KendoUI, WinForms (phasing out) and starting to dabble with Android.

Kendo UI sweet lord i would rather drink rat poison.

You go drink your rat poison then ;)

FYI MVC is a pattern not a technology, if you mean ASP.NET MVC then its a technology.

UI frameworks are the worst incredible bloat, i prefer lean fast loading sites.

I do mean that, and I expected any dev in this field to understand it too.

However, not a discussion regarding personal preferences. Open another thread it you would like to debate frameworks.
