Cable damage distrupts Telkom services

I would love to know how a contractor just drills through 3 cables.... Surely these monkeys can see something isn't 100% when they start working.

The stuff isn't concrete, just plain plastic. Funny, Bloem is the highest growing area for wireless...

No, I don't hire out TLB's although my dad let me loose on one when I was 8 years old.

I wonder if thats the reason our TI isn't working, seems strange though, afrihost is working. And we're not listed as those affected.

Doubt it. Those cables run from customers to the exchange and not exchange to exchange, which is why you still have internet connectivity via AH.

Like I have said many times, Telkom are to blame for this and not the contractor.

In our area work was done to the storm water drains, the contractors gave Telkom & Eskom 30 Days to inform them where all underground cables were in the area they were working.

30 Days past and no response from Telkom only Eskom, So a letter was sent to Telkom again informing them work would begin and they have failed to supply requested information.

And you guessed right! 150 Phones lines were pull out the ground, and Telkom jumped up and down. But the contractors lucky had proof they informed Telkom. It only took Telkom 3 weeks to fix, but hey they are the most useless company in the history of man.

Still waiting for the congestion problem to be sorted out, been 1 year of complaining on the phone day in and day out to a bunch of one brain cell twats!
