This morning while plugging in my ADSL modem I've noticed that things has become a little "out of hand". Cables everywhere. Network cables, Multi Plugs, Power adapters and computer cables for days. Enough to force me to do something about it.

What is the best way to deal with cables and Multi plugs? I'm already going to say no to Trunking as that will just get out of and after a few hours when I'm looking for a cable, and have to open it all to get that cable. Those trays people put under their desks won't work either, as the cables doesn't go in one direction, it goes in multiple directions.

I use cable ties and sometimes a screw to hilti to tie them cables onto

You get reusable cable ties that i used for that purpose.

Cable Management 101:

(1) LABLE all cables at both ends!
(2) Use ducting, and cut the cover to allow for multiple entry/exit points.

But then this is normal for IT persons Right?

Maybe one day we'll be able to buy these locally - I'm going overseas in a week maybe I'll bring one back from Ikea.

That still looks neat in comparison with my setup :P It goes from a rack to the floor to the computer.

i like these.. found some at builders warehouse.. easy to remove a cable or add one as you need to and forever reusable or until the velcro wears out..

You can get it from Builders- rather buy it per M as apposed to buying it pre packaged from Ellies etc as it'll work out far cheaper

There is only one solution if you are continually fiddling with cables and that is a cable duct with a removable cover.

All the rest are very good for a permanent or semi-permanent installation.

Think you have a valid point.

Oddly enough, they have cages at work that are similiar - its basically a cage at the bottom of the desks that unhook on one side and drop.
