Sure you can. The city cancelled the Cape Town marathon 1 hour before it was about to start. My guess is venue issues.Surely you can't cancel a stadium event less than 1 month before the date... is this the death of Big Concerts?

True but I would think venue issues would only affect one concert either JHB or CPT.. Rumour I'm hearing is Muse pulled out due to SA supporting Iran not sure if theres any truth to that though.Sure you can. Fok :-(Cancellation confirmed via Prime Circle. Press release is coming (hopefully today)

Yea should have gotten some local acts, headlined A Day to Remember and Simple plan. Then offer people who are disappointed the option to refund the tickets not cancel the event like surely they've lost significant money through deposits for venues, security etc.I only wanted to see A Day to Remember and Simple plan.
Calabash should have just replaced them with 2x other local acts.
I understand finding an international band in short notice would have been impossible.
Most folk on social media are all in the same boat as me, we don't care about Muse. They're meh.
There was someone on Instagram saying that they pulled out from countries that support Iran but no real evidence so far.So Muse canceled their shows in the 3 x Brics countries. Interesting..

This cancellation is going to cost a organisers a mint, all the marketing costs/logistics/deposits/bank charges etc.
Yikes, that'll be quite a cost. This cancellation is going to cost a organisers a mint, all the marketing costs/logistics/deposits/bank charges etc.
I wonder who would cover those costs, insurance/Muse/take it on the chin?
Honestly for me I would have still went, I never really listened to Muse, only ever knew one song "Plug in baby". Simple plan was much more popular in my school days.well, dodged that bullet by choosing not to buy tickets in the first place, would have liked to see Muse live again, but not enough of an attraction imo
reminds me of the Cokefest back in the day headlined by Guns n Roses that also pulled out very close to the concert date
it proceeded as planned, no cancellations or refunds, was still a very good show
granted Cokefest had like 12+ bands with half usually very well known international bands and half well known locals, one band pulling out wasn't as big a deal as it would be with Calabash's smaller lineup, even if it was the headline act
I only wanted to see A Day to Remember and Simple plan.
