Calendar means 1st to 30/31st.
30 days means 30 days from any date.
Months notice is usually the same as calendar month.

1 months notice means if you give notice on the 10th of December you leave 10th January.
Calendar month notice means that if you give notice on the 10th of December you leave 31 January as you need to serve a full calendar month (being Jan as you are already into December).

If you gave notice on the 1st of December then you would leave end of December for a calendar month.

My manager in the States couldn't believe that companies would hold employees to a calendar month notice period. Over there 2 weeks is about standard, and for my current job there's no mandatory resignation period, it's just better to do it for good will. I remember resigning from one job I had nearly 2 full months I had to work in before I could leave, and that was just painful.

Calendar month means a full month as on your calendar. So you resign 31/12/2016 you need to work the whole of January (31 days). If you resign 31/01/2015 you need to work the whole of February (28/29 days).

Yeah but that doesn't mention what happens if you resign mid or just into the month - where you have to work until the end of the following month. That's where they really schtump you with this calendar month rubbish.

Calendar month definition.

A "CALENDAR MONTH" is the period of time between a given date in one month to the corresponding date in the following month.

No one adheres to this definition in my experience in SA though.
