I am looking for a call logging system where the users send emails to the technician and he then log the calls. The thing is we only have 1 tech and he does the IT and we need a free software where he can log calls on the users behalf. Please help

I implemented Spiceworks at a company years ago. It worked very well. You can even use it to track inventory.

I seem to recall the ads were blocked behind the proxy anyway. Plus if the company wants they can spend some cash and get their logo on it and remove the ads.

On a side note, depending on your company size and strategy, never wise to have one IT guy do everything. Logging and assigning calls and doing 1st tier helpdesk related stuff is fulltime on its own.

Can users log complaints on spiceworks with there details and problem. Then the tech can log the calls. We have out side IT technicians but they support other regions. We have a in house tech to support normal desktop support stuff.

Jip, shame, this guy is going to spend more time logging calls than fixing the actual issues

"Users can submit tickets via email and web portal. Plus, admins can create tickets on the fly from just about anywhere in Spiceworks, or merge and de-dupe tickets to keep the records nice and tidy."

So I suppose yes, user logs ticket with complain/issue, Admin can add more details. But the ticket is the call. Damn, you want him to do double work lol?

You can setup a portal where users can log tickets directly into the system. I seem to recall there was also an email to ticket facility.

For a one man team it's going to strain him/her. But manage engine has good products and you can look at this
