Hi

I have been using VOIPBUSTER for a while now, one of the main reasons being that I can initiate a call through their servers in such a way that their servers dial my landline phone first, I pick up, then the server dials the overseas landline and I am connected.

In this way it is a landline to landline call and not a PC to landline call.

Does anyone know is there are other companies that do this?

I use a system called Jajah (www.jajah.com). You register and transfer money into their account if you live in SA (10 Euro) and start making calls. The service is excellent and the best is that when you call from you SA landline any landline user that is also registered, the call is free! Cell phone calls in the UK are also free - my brother is using O2 as a network and calls to him are free.

Thank you for the response. I have checked them out and they seem good. However, call rates are still cheaper with VOIPBUSTER or VOIPSTUNT.

Hi, check out www.glocaller.com for callback, dial through and voip with a single pin. Callback is slightly more expensive than voipbuster but if you register you phone you get a personal access number so no pin needed. You can also setup speed dials to make dialing easy.Plus u can make local SA payments. They also provide local numbers in over 60 countries forwarded to yous SA phone

But remember calls between Jajah users are free

FREE calls between JAJAH users
Calls between JAJAH users are FREE under the following conditions:

  1. You and your friends have to use mobile or landline phone in Zone 1 (USA, Canada, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan) or a landline phone in Zone 2 (mainly Europe)
  2. Your friend's phone number must be registered in JAJAH as one of his source numbers
  3. Your friend's account must be "active" (an account will become inactive after two weeks of no operation like a free call, a cheap call or sending a SMS)
  4. You have not exceeded the FAIR USE policy: 1000 minutes a month, five hours a week, 1 hour a day

We (South Africa) - are zone 3
