Calling all Virtualization Gurus.

Buy a piece of junk off of Gumtree or Carbonite and install it on that.
The hardware must correspond. CPU and GPU. I have everything spoofed except the Hardware tracker.
Do they do home inspections as well?

I don't see what the issue is, just run 2 computers at home, one that can be your pseudo computer that they can install their spyware on and then another PC that you actually use that they will never know about.

What is the point of them running spyware on a home PC?

What happens if God forbid you go to a friend's house and use their PC or use a relatives computer, say your wife or housemate, is doing that forbidden?

I do alot of "stuff" in my personal life that can never see the light of day. They need full access to my personal computer because some paranoid 3rd party software vendor managed to coerce the 70 year old owner that we are a liability to the company and only he can protect the company for a hefty fee as well.

Now I believe that the Hardware Specs will be buried somewhere in a log file with thousands of entries. Would still rather not have any tell tales as to what I am doing. I know there was a EVE online Bot program that that simulated hardware to the point that CCP could not identify the VM. But I cant find it.

wow, thought this would be a regular inquiry thread but this is really shocking.

I don't know your personal situation, and I trust you're doing well, but I hope you have drawn a line somewhere in the event of employment flagrantly infringing on your rights on this deeply personal level. I'm really sorry that you have to feel to resort to these measures, even if they are negligible.

Yeah well. This is the new Digital world we have to survive in.

So what is the point of this whole exercise then?

Doesn’t make sense.
They want to make sure we are good employees by spying and limiting access. Some of the guys were caught with private torrents and that was remotely removed. I say Challenge accepted.

Any company who is serious about security would be issuing you with a machine they fully own and control.

No piece of “spyware” running on top of the OS will do it all to protect their data.
Problem is the Company Servers are being hit by 100K+ attacks a day. Some have gone trough. We have had some nasty ransom ware that was deployed. And quite a bit of information was permanently lost. Yes I do think they are a bunch of idiots managing our security...

The contract that you sign should state that you will be sued for leaking company information. I don't understand why they need to go beyond that and "monitor" you. Something is dodgy is going on.

What about spoofing the spyware?

You need to make some anonymous calls from a friends phone about this crap. This isn't china.

Then format your personal PC, keep your job and look for a new one because this company is going down hill.
A VM is not a solution.
VM is the only option. I have disabled the Mic, camera, all booting options, All remote connections on my laptop already. Now they want my PC as well. I am an Adult. I will do in my own time with my own property as I please, Regardless if it is legal, Illegal or Criminal! No animals or children are harmed in my exploits.

I got some help with a old IT guy around here. He had the same problems from the same vendor and we worked out how to spoof all their processes, We just stuck on the machine hardware report.
