I have ditched as much of the blue and green monster as i possibly can - that means that i don't have a landline anymore. Thats why i love Skype on iBurst so much - use it often to call landlines and its quite a bit cheaper than my cell. Especially when i'm doing stuff like calling callcentres....

Now i heard a rumour that the iBurst call centre was contactable directly through Skype - but i can't find any details of this...

So what is the username we must phone?

Yeah - i found that one as well... didn't phone it but had a bit of an IM chat and he didn't seem keen to entertain 'general customer queries' :D

What happens in a situation wereby a subscriber is deaf or dumb?

and they cannot connect, is there like a special SMS line they can send text messages?

Giving service to all subscribers.

Excellent question as I'm hard of hearing myself, and would *love* to have such a service as this where you can either SMS or IM the support center with your problems and so on...

I know that solving a problem by using only SMS as communication will be a bit slower (progress-wise), but it can be done, and the problem be solved.

For example - my company's server room is noisy, and I cannot use any sort of phone whilst in that room, the noise (CPU fans, PSU fans, etc) drowns out any normal conversation, so having SMS as option is really (and will be) welcome.

I agree - and there are also some things that are just waaaaay easier to handle over IM... Trying to give long numbers (like UTID's) over the phone is so prone to errors - whereas typing it... or better even 'copy-n-paste'.... is much more likely to be successful.

So - Shaun Green - you listening?? Customer centric?? Well we would like Skype and/or IM enabled call centre agents... can you deliver??

Excellent idea, guys. I'd support this wholeheartedly, esp. the alternatives to Skype-talk (Skype-IM?), as it could be a little difficult talking to a iBurst rep over a line that doesn't work... ;)

erm

I find this idea a bit lacking in foresight, much like the message when you call in, that further information and assistance can be found on the website, but generally speaking , I would think that 90% of the reasons why people try and contact the helpdesk go a little something like this:

"I CANT FRIGGING CONNECT!!!"

So unless there's skype that works on brainwaves, the idea is well meaning, but not well thought through.

You have a point...

But did you miss the part where i said I DON'T HAVE A FRIGGING PHONE LINE!

There are plenty of people who have other options of connection when one fails - many times i've read on THESE forums things like "My iBurst at home is bust... what should I do..." They are connected to some sort of internet connection - or does this forum work on...

brainwaves

Nothing is going to solve all problems - but please stop putting down a clearly useful new idea.

I seem to agree with 'rush'. SMS will be the option out of the connection issue, but it'll take you 40 day and 40 nights to compile all the sms's needed to explain your situation.
Luckily for me I stay in Khyber Rock (close to the offices) so what I do when I've got a connection issue with no joy over the phone is, I unplug my UTD, drive over there and stand in the call center untill I'm 100% satisfied. Nothing like a bit of personal contact!

Thanks Shaun. Do us a favour and revert as/when a decision is made - on this thread would be best.
