Calling MAC users

Mac OSX: Seamless 3G through e1000

The e1000 doesn't come with any modem software for the Mac. Vodacom and Vodafone cannot provide support for this. I've purchased software for Eur 75- from:

www.novamedia.de

Automatically configures the Mac and e1000 via Bluetooth, although inserts the wrong DNS servers (easy to fix). I get 311kbps. Must try it. I don't think Vodacom even know about this.

Like v3g mentioned in the post before yours, the issue arose in another thread in this forum, and Novamedia.de was specifically mentioned in that thread, i.e. v3g is definitely aware of this issue - I'm not sure if the call for users of MACz involves the exact same version of software, but it could've saved you some money ;).

3g for g4

I managed to download the Vodafone Mobile Connect software for free from the German Vodafone site:
http://www.vodafone.de/business/support_download/software/59340.html
I connect using the Options Card my Mac G4 laptop.
It works well and is simple to use.
I do experience crashes and bluetooth loss when i Power Off the Options Card. It depends on what other software is running.
If I am running Photoshop with unsaved work and my computer goes to sleep, it wakes but the monitors will not boot. Crash reboot and data loss!!

Hey MacMike,

The Vodafone software has two options on the "Create Profile" - one of them is phone, now I haven't checked the later version but check if e1000 isn't there under USB/Bluetooth if not, point a message in v3g's way and maybe he can pull some code/uhm strings :)

Other then that - Mac "should" have seen the modem the moment you connected via USB - btw what Mac OS you running ?
