Camera batteries

don't be fooled by the camera connector .. tried it in the KNP just after getting my kit ... The Microdrive is too big, ie. the iPod's battery is flat before you can even transder half of the photos :D

I wish that system would support USB2 speeds. As far as I know its limited to USB1. Dont know why it would have the limitation but it is very slow.

They can be had at Incredible Decption for R100 for the Uniross Hybrio 2100mAh. I have the GP 2500mAh(alot of) but would rather have these 2100 as the 2500s becomes alot less than the 2100s after a week or two.
Picked up 4 packs of AA and one AAA. r99/r69 respectively for four.

Well, don't know whether this of interest, but i bought my mom one of these for her birthday. She has a couple of 4GB SD's but that SLR fills them pretty fast. So it's perfect for when they go travelling for a month or two. Not even that expensive. I got it here at the best price.

I have something similar, my only concern is that you cant see that the images are actually on the device. I always worry that once it has said copied there might be issues. I like to physically see the images.

/enter ipod :D

You bought the grip locally?Even RAW?

Yeah, I am an impulse buyer ... if I want something, I want it now ... and I was worried that it might get stuck in customs (going on leave soon and don't want to go without it)

IIRC, you can see the RAW files, even though you can't see the actual image

Just with the ipod you would wait so darned long for the files to transfer!!

@Bwana - resurrecting an old thread....

How are your experiences with the Hybrio's bearing in mind the lower capacity but the no discharge feature? I'm getting tiered of picking up my Pentax and having to replace the batteries after about 2-3 weeks with the normal NiMH's

Still loving them. I've got 3 sets for my flash and 2 for my grip and its nice knowing I can charge em up and they'll be good to go when I need them.

Will definitely get some t/morrow at Makro.. damn Clicks were closed when I popped in there an hour ago. Thought they would still be open as they have the chemist part too.

My prob with the normal NiMH's are that I have 3 sets and by the time I get to the 3rd set, they are just about discharged - well nearly, they don't last 1/2 as long as they supposed to. Charged a set last night and been using them all day w/o problems so the discharge thing is a pain. What have you got in the line of a charger - This looks good...

Speaking of Makro I was there a couple weeks ago and they were giving away a charger with every two sets . . . so I have yet another charger like this :D

What kind of charger do you have? It might work.

I have 3 Nimh chargers (180mA MP charger, a 360mA Energizer and an old Vanson 165mA) They will be good enough I assume but I want an intelligent charger that actually switches off based on the battery charge level and not based on the time its been on.
