[SUB]Anyone know of any good camping spots within 3 hours of Cape Town

Really want to go away over new years with the GF - preferably somewhere green and tranquil [/SUB]with swimming
 
Boet, unpoilt beach, very remote, whales in the bay, i would retire here in the blink of an eye, if she let me...

Google strandfontein west coast... Not the one on the flats...

Yeah Strandfontein seems to be the in-thing lately.

Was in belhar this year for a week for sports, heard fekkin AK47 chatter, my flats, well, it's the ocean, the sunsets, the whales ....
Been going there for the last 25 years

But good luck with getting a spot during the festive season. Most places will be fully booked up.
 
Swimming in the ocean is out if your all suggesting west coast spots ;)
 
Not quite 3hrs more like 5 but .... Natures Valley, Plettenberg Bay, suits your "preferably somewhere green and tranquil with swimming" amazing place

Wait... You came all the way from Namibia to Belhar (of all places) to watch some sport... I must be missing something here.
 
Montagu is absolute heaven and its town is just heaven too. Plus there are plenty of farms around Klein karoo that will put you up. Just check info office of any town on the map

Montagu is beautiful, I honeymooned at Mimosa Lodge on our road trip, but you won't catch me there in December...can be like 40C in the shade lol
