Villa has always been Spain's number 1 striker after Raul. Torres is second in command to Villa. That much is fact and Villa brings amazing stats to the table that shows why he is no 1.
Spain's midfield is - Xavi, Iniesta and Senna. Alonso and Cesc always start on the bench. Senna plays as the defensive midfielder. Alonso plays as a central midfielder, but Xavi starts over him, always has.
Cesc starts off the bench, Xavi, Cesc and Iniesta cannot play without Senna.
Why do you say if you play Xavi and Iniesta - Spain cannot play Villa and Torress?
Cesc and Alonso wont start for Spain as was the case in the Euros.
Villa is on another level. You might not realise it, but soon you will. Villa has been the no 1 striker in Europe for sometime.
Rio is crap!! He has been riding on Vidic's coat tails for some time now.
Cesc starts on the bench for Spain. Xavi and Iniesta will run circles around Carrick just like they did in the CL final last season. I cant see Lamps and Gerrard stopping them either.
Spain are the number one team in the world for a reason. I doubt it very much that Brazil will make playing against them look easy. If anything, that would probably be the match of the tourney.
Judging from Spain form and the fact that the loss to the USA was their first defeat in 3 years, i dont see Brazil taking them down.
I think there will always be opinions on who is the best but no fact.
Its like saying "Torres is one of the best" instead of "Torres is the best striker".
And you are right that Villa is no.1 for Spain, but that does not make him better than Torres.
Torres for Liverpool is different from Torres for Spain.
He has single handedly destroyed teams like Chelsea, UTD and Madrid becos he can associate with that type of gameplay which is more physical and fast whereas in Spain its slighty slower but has more finesse. Villa can read Xavi while Torres can read Gerrard.
And to the guy who said something about me listtening to media, pls man, stop talking crap. The guy was in the top 5 in 2008 and was the only striker (Messi and Ronaldo dont count as strikers). However, Messi is becoming more of a striker now and i will say as fact he is most amazing player i have ever seen.
o yes, To play Xavi and Iniesta and Torres and Villa, Xavi or Iniesta will have to play on the wings (usually Iniesta). In my opinion thats not a good idea but it can work with ramos coming down the flank.
Remember that was the issue in the Confed cup and Iniesta and Silva were not there. Xavi was on the right, and they had no width.
Its a good thing to see so many top players in Spain, but the coach has to figure out how to use them. On paper, nobody can stop them, but remember the world cup is not about paper (look at the past winners).
Look at argentina, what a frikkin lineup, but i dont beleive Maradonna is the right coach.
England have a chance and i hope they win it cos, its a bit selfish, I want to Stevie G to get a medal, cos it does not look like he is gonna get one with LFC.
