We had that when our company used iBurst in the Randburg CBD a few years back. Was great when we first started, but over the course of the year got worse and worse. Would speed up after 5pm, and be okay in the mornings until around 8am. They denied it was a congestion issue, but...

I do have an external antenna and my signal is 100%. May be you should do something to improve iBurst's network. I've been on iBurst for over 5 years and I know how it use to perform.


We had that when our company used iBurst in the Randburg CBD a few years back. Was great when we first started, but over the course of the year got worse and worse. Would speed up after 5pm, and be okay in the mornings until around 8am. They denied it was a congestion issue, but...

I've been having the same for over an year now. Lately it starts speeding up only after 23:00, even later...

I have to add that speeds during the day is pathetic out of a full month using iburst during the day 25 of those days would be slow, what I do not understand is that there suppose to be less people online during the day so it should be a lot faster than at night when people are home and playing online games and downloading etc, but it's just the opposite of that.

I have an external antenna and it helps a lot, but not during the day lol

I feel your pain...Had the same problem in Weltevreden Park. When I first took the contract out (this is now about three years ago), speed was wonderful. But then during the second year of the contract it got worse and worse, even though my signal never left the 100% mark. Eventually after about 5 months of complaints Sean came out and did a site inspection, helped me tweak things a wee bit. Helped a bit, but it was never great. But have to say that the speeds have been pretty good and stable this past year, barring one or two temporary glitches - but I only log on in the evenings when I get home, so I don't know what it's like during the day.

Thank you very much! May be I'll BUY another one but... from CellC or Telkom 3G as soon as their new HSPA+ becomes available in JHB.
