My father, Master Viking the Great, would have been your guy, but sadly he passed away
That is a fairly simple desk to make, but might be cheaper to buy.
It's going to be Materials:
Melamine + 3mm Hardboard for the back + optional drawer runners, or use timber cleats, and some cam screws so it can easily be assembled/disassembled.
Then probably 50% of the material price for labour and time.

Have asked a couple and one said because it’s custom and not what they normally make it would be more than R5k and that doesn’t make sense to me tbh

Big problem is, I'm in Mpumalanga.
I can probably make that for less than 5k (everything pine boards, sprayeyd with enamel paint), but shipping is probably going to end up more than 5k
If there was no lock down, would probably just deliver it myself.
