HI all,

some background:

A contractor called me yesterday evening to discuss some work i want done.

The contractor got home and his wife asked him: who did you call at 20:04?

the guy then asked me how does this happen as he found it very strange....

i was a sotware developer for 18 years so i guess he thought i would know..

i did not...

so now my question is: how on earth is this possible? it was not a whatsapp call it was a normal over network call.

i am now also curoius to know....

No idea what you're asking.

His phone has a call log, like every phone does. She saw the call log and thought it was Jessica he called.

Maybe the contractor's wife is in touch with Zane Kilian?

Short answer ..... Yes

Or said contractor has been "looking around" and the wife got suspicious.
For example on the Afrihost app you can see all billable activity if the number is linked on the app.

the most "I'm concerned they might find where the bodies are buried" energy I've ever seen.
Depends on whether this was Contractor or Contractor 2

Because Contractor only really found his stride in Contractor 2. Real a-game material.

Pig mask. Rusty axe. Creepy laughter.

I read contractor as "some random friend of mine that is definitely not me I pinky promise"

1. She checked his outgoing calls via his device which isn't very trustworthy.
2. She checks it via live billing
3. She has installed a tracking app to monitor his calls (mspy, umobix, spynger, eyezy, famiguard pro).

She is most likely trying to find blame to divorce him.

Apps like mSpy are surveillance or “spyware” tools, and they’re often installed secretly to monitor someone’s activity. If you’re worried that such an app might be on your phone, here are practical steps you can take to check:

🔍 Signs & Checks

  • Battery drain & overheating: Spy apps run in the background and can cause unusual battery usage.
  • Data usage spikes: Check your mobile data reports for unexplained increases.
  • Unknown apps: Go through your installed apps list carefully. On iPhone, check under Settings → General → iPhone Storage. On Android, check Settings → Apps.
  • Device management profiles (iPhone): Go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management. Spyware often installs hidden profiles here.
  • Permissions audit: Look for apps with excessive permissions (location, microphone, camera) that don’t match their purpose.

Spyware apps like mSpy are often used without consent, which is illegal in many jurisdictions. If you suspect someone has installed such software on your device, it’s not just a technical issue—it could also be a privacy or legal matter. Consider discussing it with someone you trust or a professional if you feel your safety is at risk.

Most likely:

1- She went through the phones recent call history if she had access to the phone
2- She looked at the itemized billing online if she didnt have access to the phone

If she has a PI on the case:

3- Installed Spyware
4- Has someone watching him

Number 1 is the most likely though. She just looked at who he had recently dialed. Its unlikely to be 3 and 4 unless the OP has a long history of cheating on her.

Thanks ChatGPT.

Do networks still keep a call log available online for billing purposes for contract customers?
