Anyone know if the Do Broadband allows for other ISP's to be used through the same connection?

You see my sis is signed up for a Do Broadband combo (line and ISP). I want to get myself my own Axxess ISP, only problem is I looked just about everywhere but cant find out if Do Broadband restricts you to only using their ISP at a single internet connection. Anyone that can help

What is really nice is using DO Broadband and Axxess

Ok thanks alot :)

Off to get my adsl account

Remember you'll have to add your account details in the router configuration by logging in to it (normally 10.0.0.2 in your internet browser address bar, followed by router login password).

That or put your router in bridge mode so you can add account details in Windows, without having to log in to your router.

I used to have a WA account, but over a number of months i honestly felt that running the axxess account as the international account (and primary dns) meant that sites were accessed faster as compared to when i ran WA (also as a primary dns).

Yeah just dont do what I did, I cancelled my DoBroadband at the beginning of the month, the guy told me I'd be charged for the month still but I'll still be able to use it. So I started using my Cybersmart account, then I was running low on it so I swapped over to use my DoBroadband account only to find it's been cancelled. The accounts department got a rude phone call from me in the morning, they've told me they cannot check whether or not I will be charged for the service, I must phone them back when I get my bill.

Two ISPs

I am a complete noob so any advice would be appreciated here. I have just signed a 2 year contract for a 384 ADSL line with Telkom (to get the free router) and am currently waiting for Telkom to tell me to come and fetch the router. After that I intend signing up with Axxess for a 2gb unshaped connection. It occurred to me that my ADSL line is costing me R152pm and Do Broadband 1 is only R199pm so for an extra R47pm I could get 1gb of shaped ADSL from Telkom in addition to my 2gb of unshaped from Axxess.

My question is: How easy is it to a) set up the router to connect to 2 ISPs and how easy is it to switch between the ISPs in flight?

Please don't get too technical as you will lose me very quickly :)

Welcome to the MyADSL Forums! :D

a) Easy as PI. Get your computer to do it for you. You set up RASPPPOE and then you can switch accounts within seconds. Search for it. If you have Any troubles - just post again!

1. You should not have signed that contract. You can get the line rental + 1GB of bandwidth + FREE Modem for a mere R139pm Elsewhere

2. Have a look at SAINET.co.za - R49 for 1GB / R79 for 2GB of shaped SAIX bandwidth

;)
