Can somebody help with computer spares?

Friends of ours got robbed the week before last, and they lost all their computer equipment. This friend works from his house, and he can't afford new equipment.

Is anybody willing to assist with 2nd hand working computer equipment? Laptops will also be welcome.

Friend of ours is living in Pretoria.

At this stage he's looking for a basic PC system to get to work again, the finer details can be sorted out later.
 
Eish postage is gonna be a killer bru ..... /me has old but working monitor btw.
 
That is what I was thinking...This 17" CRT of mine is not gonna travel well...well at least not cheaply :(
 
/me has a laserjet too .... needs a little overhaul but fine otherwise.
 
two 17" monitors in perfect condition - pitch at my door and carry away. (This is Sedgefield we're talking about). I'm always building up systems from old salvaged pc's and giving them away - usually to underpriviledged from the nearby township as well as the local pre-primary for kids to learn on.

What else can you do with a socket 478 1.6 celeron / 256Mb / 40 Gb HDD in an ugly case?
 
Got an HP 6L Laser printer in excellent condition with an almost brand new cartridge.
Im in Benoni ,pick up,its yours.

Also a case with mobo and cpu..I dont have the foggiest what its all about.I think theres a cd /dvd writer in it as well.I know its old gen ram coz it does not fit my new puter.
You can grab all I have from this ..

I've got these new boards lying around that have a 1ghz Via processor, and take 1 DDR1 memory stick and IDE hard drive. Its not much, but it can get him going if you want it ... let me know ... Also, if any of you guys wanna donate 5 DDR1 memory sticks and 5 hard drives and 5 simple cases, I can give one to the librarian and donate the rest to an under-privileged school ... any guys wanna donate any of the above.

how much would shipping on an old system like that cost ?
 
PM me if any of you have spare DDR1 memory ... 266/333/400, anything ... and any hard drives ... 8-10gb is fine ... I will install Ubuntu on them. And any old cases you might have ... And then let me know of a school in Jhb that needs them ...
 
I need DDR1 memory. . anyone got a spare 512 stick, its for my parents pc and if anyone has an old pc to lend/donate to my until December it would help, i'm pc less until then :(
