Can someone do this in SA please!!!

Hi everyone
I have been looking to get into development but struggling to get a decent college in cape town. City varsity offer a course it's part time and I'm hoping for full-time. If anyone knows any other colleges that will preferably start asap I would be grateful.

*** I found this online and thought it would be cool if it were in SA. Can some of you organise something like this :) ? obviously depending on demand...http://www.makersquare.com/

We have been teaching basic programming and developer skills specifically to South Africans for almost two years now: www.hyperiondev.com, while our systems are basic we are building a new virtual learning environment in Django where courses will have basic Oracle accreditation - negotiating the funding now with Oracle. We'd like to take things away from CodeAcademy/Coursera style and approach things from more of a SA perspective (eg high data costs so make video content minimal, account for student background and language more carefully).

We have experimented with running bootcamps/workshops and the issue here is really building a sustainable business model or just getting funding for such things. At the moment we run 'bootcamps' for the Department of Education training teachers. Anything for individuals/companies would have to be for profit.

We have bootcamps it South Africa, but not as extravagant as that one. Here you sit in a class instead of a house.
But the irony is funny. Because, they prepare you for your inevitable job within a dev (ware)house.

Not saying it's bad, but rather go through a proper institution to learn. I'll be more recognized than someone saying: "This one time, at bootcamp...".

Perhaps to learn how to spell JavaScript.

Hehe true. But seriously JavaScript is really easy if you have a programming background already.

edit: seems this was already brought up more eloquently :)

What I meant was to learn all the basics and know what is going on (syntax etc) in JavaScript should only take a day. If you can't then you're an idiot. Obviously, just like any programming/scripting language, it will take far longer to learn the best practices for implementation and all the ways it can be used.
