Hi,

Got wireless now to go across the house and surprisingly enough it works giving 80% from one side to the other, K, im very new to wireless networking here so I need a little help

Can I set my wireless card in my pc to act as a wireless access point without and still be able to use it to connect to the router on the other side of the house, cause as soon as I enable it, it becomes a dedicated network type thing but I need both...

I'm not sure, but I think most cards/adapters can only be used as a client or an access point? Really not sure, though...

Nope, unfortunately not, it's either in peer or infrastructure mode never both... If you add another one though... but its prolly not worth it.

Peer being a client, and infrastructure being an access point? When I set up a WIFI phone on our office network, I set it as infrastructure and was able to connect to the wireless access point. Am I missing something here?

AFAIK infrastructure means it will connect to a WAP, while peer means it will connect to another client.

Infrastructure mode = connect to an AP and peer (or ad-hock) mode = act as an AP (in a nutshell).

It reaches to my room fine (my wireless card in my pc), but my parents room (my dads laptop) the signal drops down to 2/5 bar so I want his laptop to connect to my wireless card in my pc and then my pcs wireless goes to the router and my dads laptop only sees me if Im a AP at which I lose the connection the wireless connection to the router on the other side of the house...

Ideally you need to get a card which can be switched between modes easily. I know some of the Netgears & Gigabyte cards can do this with a "flick of a switch" in the software.

Being in adhoc mode will let the same card connect to either AP or client, but it won't act as an AP
