An amateur cameraman has released footage of the death of a man tasered by Royal Canadian Mounted Police at Vancouver International Airport.

Cameraman Paul Pritchard filmed Pole Robert Dziekanski,40, in a "clearly agitated" state on 14 October in a "secure area outside the Canada Customs exit". At the start of the 10 minute film Dziekanski, who had arrived hours before* to visit his mother, can be seen "taking office chairs and putting them in front of the security doors", as CBC News explains. He then "picks up a small table, which he holds, while a woman in the arrivals lounge calmly speaks to him in apparent effort to calm him down".

Nailed the poor guy 3 times. A tad harsh.

Yeah 3 time is. Still he deserved to be tazered. Of course this going to get liberals fuming at the facist stormtroopers again to the delight of criminals

Was this guy even a criminal? Or did nobody bother to find out in the 24 secs that they attempted to speak to him in a language that he didn't understand, before they tazed him?

Edit: Agreed with Mike, but you knew that hey?

I just want to go on record saying that I find your politics repugnant.

...and its 'fascist' by the way.

Well that's your problem isn't it :D

As predicted the posse are outraged :o

EDIT: It's also a bit rich coming from you. You just have to look at the the heinous crimes in this country that result from your "politics"

It does seem overly harsh but then again he was smashing computers and that, so he wasn't exactly calm and peaceful. 3 times was definitely excessive though.

Somebody call me? Of course the neo-fascists will cry that he was an immediate danger to the safey of aircraft and world peace and had to be dealt with with "extreme prejudice". Think of the children!!!

Yep he needed to be controlled. He was causing a scene and had damaged a computer. Yep 3 50,000v shocks in a couple of seconds gives a good chance to kill. I have to wonder why 4 Police Officers couldn't apprehend one guy without resorting to dangerous force? Perhaps the problem here is one of training rather than intent?

That's what I was wondering too, what the justification was for tasering him.

Three time yes definitely. Once no

Trying times, like dealing with a comatose man on a bus: "I know! Tase him!"

Of course the tube bombings weren't a trying time. They were glorious moments for the resistance in their struggle against the imperialists.

You might not get twitchy when trains and buses are being blown up but most normal people do.

Nope. I'd say he was a danger the to policemen or any innocent bystander. That's enough to justify being tazered.

.

I'm not sure that the comatose man on the bus was even part of the resistance. I'm no hero, but no, comatose people on busses don't make me twitchy.

Useful excuse this islamo-fascist terrorism bogeyman.

And you wonder why mass murderes and child rapists are such big fans of yours :o

Then perversely enough perhaps you and I are in some sort of uneasy agreement. If they felt sufficiently threatened to require the need to taser him then thats ok. (Though if that is so, I would raise an eyebrow at the current state of Canadian police - Perhaps this was the D team comprised of the guys from the Chess club?). But Once only. Four officers, chess specialists or not, are easily enough to deal with 1 unarmed guy who has been tasered and is down. If an officer is permitted to use a taser he should understand the potential dangers. As I said. Training issue.

P.S. Before I get flamed, I was the captain of the chess club (but I also did kick Boxing) ;)

Bottom line is this. Don't throw hissie fits and you won't get tazered.

Simply really.

No, not really. Watch the video. Something is clearly wrong. Yes, perhaps is recreational chemicals. Or maybe it's a mental / medical condition. Maybe he's having a nervouse breakdown? We might never know now that they killed him instead of helping him.

And if a hissy fit was grounds for termination, not many of us would make it past the toddler stage.

Oh no not again :o

:D

There is no doubt 3 times was wrong. The officer responsible should be punished severley IMO.

I don't think officers should be expected to take any chances in these situations. Verbal warnings should suffice. If the offender doesn't comply he gets zapped. Responsibility for your actions.

Oh, the diabetic was achild rapist and/or murderer? Or you just talking carp?

Nope your relentless attacking of law inforcement officers.
