So I bought a 1/2 GB bundle a little while ago because I was going to be on the move and needed connectivity.

Over the time I was expecting to use it, I in fact did not need and so logged into vodacom4me.co.za and removed the bundle from my list of services. I hadn't used a single byte of data of the 500 mb when I did this.

So I was expecting the charge to disappear but no I was still charged. I thought, well maybe the refund will be next month, but not either on my bill I received yesterday.

Is it just me or have I been ripped off here?

Hello Pico....I am affraid you will not be getting a refund for this. The purchase was made and the bundle supplied and the charge was invoiced. Once the bundle is purchased it must be used or you will loose it. You get two types of bundles.

1. Add on bundles (repeats every month untill you de-activate them)
2. Add-hoc bundles (Stays on your account for 1 month only -does not repeat)

When you de-activate the add on bundle then the bundle will remain active for the remainder of that month to give you a chance to use the megs. Come end of the month the system will delete that bundle off your account and the remaining megs (if any) will fall away.

Correct

Thanks for the reply ocleroux. I already knew these things but frankly, I think a company like Vodacom can do better than that. My question was one probing further the already known methods to experienced users. So basically the answer to my question is a big FAT yes.

Great reputation builder that Vodacom.

WRONG

You purchased said service, this service was supplied. You did not use SAID service. That does not qualify you for a refund. VODACOM supplied the service in good faith. You shuld have thought the whole thing trough before buyin the service.

When you enter a brothel and pay the lady (as is the custom ) before anything transpires. Now once you enter the room and your equipment malfunction for whatever reason. The lady WILL not be refunding you. :D

the same principle applies lokl

Ok sure, so I guess you don't mind being ripped off. Even Telkom, yes Telkom, re-imburses your phone pro rata for the month if you cancel it. Do you get where I am going with this?

So we must just sit here and accept losing money for something that was purchased, never used, then canceled and idly sit by?

Number portability is quite handy...

You can go to any network the issue remains you purchase the service and did not use then you expect the supplier to refund you. NO again I will make a example for you.

You subscribe to DSTV BUT never turn on your TV for the entire month. Will you expect DSTV to reimburse you for the months subscription just because YOU never turned your television on?

I hope I have simplified the issue enough for you. The fact remain my friend you bought the service you never USED the service BUT the services was supplied and available. I think it is unreasonable of you to expect ANY refund.

BE that as it may you have made up your mind that the service provider is in the wrong and nothing will convince you otherwise. The lesson here is TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for YOUR PURCHASE. :D
